Sometimes things go wrong. Sometimes a citizen needs to inform a a department of an officer that is not doing their job properly. It then falls on the citizen to provide that information to the proper authority in a way that does not leave them feeling intimidated.
The following video captures some police officers that are not ready to hear about a complaint. The Thin Blue Line might be hard to cross in some localities. When officers start asking pointed questions to someone who merely inquires how to file a complaint – that is a problem. If you have a complaint about an employee – whether it be a fast food worker or an FBI agent – your main goal is to communicate to their superior that the company or department is not being run in the correct manner. You would like to see things put right.
If you complain to the guy at KwikEEBurger about his rudeness – he might spit on your food in the back. If you have an issue with a peace officer, they have significantly more ability to retaliate, should they so choose.
