Richard H. Gustafson has been practicing law in South Carolina for over 30 years. He has been a North Myrtle Beach Lawyer for more than a decade …and has devoted his practice primarily to Criminal Defense Law,Personal Injury, Accidents, Wills, Traffic Law, Juvenile Law, and DUI.

For over 30 years, Richard H. Gustafson has been helping South Carolinian’s and visitors that have been accused of criminal and traffic offenses get their day in court.

After graduating Valparaiso University School of Law, Richard clerked for Pike County (Kentucky) Circuit Judges Bayard Collier and Charles Lowe in Kentucky.

He then served as a Deputy Public Defender in Orangeburg for over 14 years being qualified in Death Penalty Defense, Murder, Armed Robbery & CSC cases (Rape). He fought for clients that otherwise would have been worked through the system and jailed due to plea bargaining. It was here that Richard developed a reputation as a fighter that didn’t allow the system to have its way with people accused of a crime.

His success against “the machine” inspired him to move to North Myrtle Beach and open his own practice where the constraints of government scheduling would not hinder each client to get the detailed defense they deserved.
